Trip Advisor And Social Media

Have you ever thought what level of influence can social media sites and e-guides like TripAdvisor have on a hotel business? How Trip advisor, Expedia, Euro trotter, Travelmasti are helping individuals and hotel industry together?
Everyone is fond of travelling and we love to visit new places. We want to explore new holiday destinations, but we all are scared about things like safety, cost, food etc. We want to gather all type of information and that too very accurate. We get true comments about the places to visit-via agent, via friends, via travellers, along with all of these we can get true reviews from social sites.
We are all inherently social animals, but I think one of the real overlooked beauties of social media is the passivity of it. With a site like Facebook, friends or relatives can passively observe, and share without interrupting others.
Tripadvisor has been a good helping hand to all travellers, infact travellers trust the reviews of Trip advisor. Information like which credit card will work, what are the best hotels, what are the other spotting locations around your desired place, etc helps a lot in enjoying a hassle free vacation or business appointments.
Not only travellers but hoteliers also get benefits from online sites. In 2009 Trip advisor published list of Top Ten dirtiest hotel in world. They published this list for US, Asia, Canada, France, UK, Italy and Europe and have a designated website for prospective guests to view the “Worst of the Worst.
This on one hand created negative impact on the Hoteliers, but also provides them a chance to make quick amendments so that their hotels don’t appear on this list again. It takes a lot of brand management to overcome this type of negative publicity which has only escalated due to the power of social media.
Trip advisor is connected to so many other social networking sites. It provides easy access worldwide to leading online travel agencies including Expedia, Orbits, Travelocity and hotels.com. It attracts more than 50 social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Also it offers travel suppliers effective graphical advertising and cost-per-click marketing platforms.

To run a successful business employees should focus on personalized service, brand management and simply understanding of all the business facets as per the consumer, will help to grow the business to the three folds.
So, where do you wanna travel now? Go and search your travelling spot via Trip advisor or other social sites..
